WDS Circuit Basset specialty & World Winner 2025

The most anticipated and exciting show week of the year is behind us! At the specialty show, Pepsi finally managed to break our famous "specialty curse": always and forever being best male 2. This time he raced to best male 1 and at the same time claimed the HeCW-25 title! And best of all, the win came at this very special specialty.

At the World Winner we came close, but the title slipped away by just one placing. Of course it stung a little but we definitely didn’t lose to a bad dog. Maybe one day we’ll give this title another try… or maybe not!

Basset Specialty show, WDS Circuit 7.8.2025

Judge Marita Rodgers, UK Pepsi: EXC1, CQ, BM1, BOS & Helsinki Circuit Winner 2025 "Beautifully balanced dog that has a lot of qualities. Noble head, good length of neck, has a good return of upper arm and forechest, good tail set ,topline and rear angulation, very sound on the move with good reach and drive."

Usva: EXC2 "Well balanced, very feminine, nice balanced head with nice dark eye. Good length of neck, would like better shoulder angulation and return of upper arm, and more forechest. Very good topline, good ribs, rear angulation and tail set. Very good coat texture. Sound on the move, but would like a little better front extension."

"4 year old tri-color. Very typical for the breed. Very good head. Could have a slightly tighter eye. Has very good neck. Excellent shoulders. Good forechest. Has a very good ribcage. Excellent topline. Correct proportions. Correct hind-angulation. Very well set tail. A very sound mover in all directions. Excellent coat."

"14 month old tri-color. Needs just to mature. She has very good head properties. Has very good neck and shoulders. Nice forechest. Nice ribcage. Just lacking a little bit of bodyweight. Very good topline. Very nice hind-angulation and tail set. Excellent coat and presentation. Just needs to tighten in front on the out and back, but has a very good sidegait."
